About Island Ist

Ist  is a small island off the Dalmatian coast of Croatia. The closest city to Ist is Zadar. The island has an area of 9.65 km2 . There are around 200 inhabitants and that number doubles up during summer time but still not enought to feel crowded. Main season is in July and August, but belive us, the real advantage of our island comes in June and September. Not only the prices are down but the perfect weather conditions and its relaxed atmosphere will make you feel truly peacefull. It will delight you with the simplicity of living that can be experienced in a few places nowdays.

Island Ist is an ideal place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and is a true paradise for nature lovers.

Island Ist is surrounded by numerous islets and cliffs. It is well known for sport fishermans and diving. In the village centar there is a big public sandy beach with a nature shadow and caffe bars. There are in total 4 caffe bars, 3 markets, 3 restaurants, fast food, post office and doctor on the island.

If you can not imagine your holidays without sport, Ist is an ideal place for you. Besides swimming and hiking on Straža hill (172m), you can enjoy playing tennis on the idyllic court by the sea (possible on request). There is also a basketball court in the centre of the village where Croatia’s oldest basketball tournament takes place every year.
